چکیده
The consumption of heavy metals through the ingestion food is a growing concern in developing countries where monitoring environmental content has not been given desired attention. This research work aims at determining public health risks and safety farm products terms their residual metal burdens from five subsistence farmlands Akinyele area. Analysis concentrations Cd, Cu, Cr, Pb, Fe, Zn soil samples study area was conducted using flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer. pH measured situ meter while organic matter determined loss ignition method. Geochemical indices were used to determine concentration trend samples. Correlation analysis performed establish relationship between metals. all below maximum permissible limit stated by WHO/FAO. ranged 7.36 8.38 indicating that slightly alkaline. 1.637% 2.1% are mineral soils. revealed sampling sites uncontaminated except Site A, B, E with moderate contamination Cd. studies analyzed variables common origin can be recommended for farming purposes. However, more should tested concentrations.

Evaluation of background geochemical speciation of heavy metals in overburden topsoil of bituminous sand deposit area, Ondo state, Nigeria
Metals are ubiquitous within the earth crust. However, the exceptional high-level concentration of heavy metals in the soil due to natural or anthropogenic activities and the chemical forms in which they exist determine the level of risk they portend to the environment. This work was aimed at determining the background level of the presence of seven priority toxic metals (Cr, Ni, Pb, As, Cd, Cu...
